How To Add An Exclusions On a Single VM/Server VM in McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator 4.5.0 (McAfee ePO 4.5)
Procedure to add an exclusion in McAfee ePO 4.5 is as follows:
Step 1 :
Logon to McAfee ePO 4.5 Admin Console. Double Click the VM you want to add exclusions to, from
System Tree Tab.

You will
see something like this:
Step 2 :
Go to Actions
button then open up Agent option and then click Modify Policies on a Single System:
You will
see Policy Assignment Page.
Step 3:
From Policy Assignment Page, Select the Product you have installed on your VM.
Then click
Edit Assignment of the policy On-Access Default Processes Policies.
Step 4:
At Edit Assignment Page , check Break
inheritance and assign… check box.
At Assigned Policy select the policy upon which you want your exclusion policy to be based upon and
then click Edit Policy:
Step 5:
At Edit Policy Page, select
Settings for : either
for Server or Workstation. Then come to Exclusions
tab. Then at What not to scan : click Add :
tab. Then at What not to scan : click Add :
Step 6 :
At Add/Edit Exclusion Item box, give the
path of the folder you want to exclude from scanning at
What to exclude bar.

Then at When to exclude select the options of Read/Write scanning as desired, click OK and then click
Save.
You are
done.
Note: Try Waking up Agent for that VM if the exclusion is not working as yet.
